vision of its founder Shri. U N Mehta was bought to life. The
company manufactures and sells branded and unbranded generic
pharmaceutical products mainly in India Shri. U N Mehta saw the
benefits of niche marketing and began taking the company in that
direction.
In 1970 the company developed and launched a product called
Trinicalm Plus, which is a tranquilizer in the niche segment,
central nervous system. This was a breakthrough for the company and
it continued to develop more drugs for different niche markets.
Torrent Pharmaceuticals concentrates mainly on cardiovascular,
gastrointestinal, central nervous system, and anti-diabetics areas
to name a few.
Most of the company’s products are sold as pills, capsules, and
parenterals. Some of the products sold by the company include
Risperidone, Venlafaxine Hydrochloride, Duloxetine Hydrochloride,
Nebivolol Hydrochloride, Lamotrigine, Sertraline Hydrochloride, and
Ormeloxifen Hydrochloride.
Torrent Pharmaceuticals has operations that are located mainly in
the United States, Latin America, Russia, Europe, and Japan. The
company is the recipient of a number of awards including the
Presidents award for highest pharmaceuticals exports. Torrent
Pharmaceuticals has expanded to a point where it is now one of the
influential companies in pharmaceuticals.
